"The Sandwich"...everything I read about it is legendary. I'd have to agree. It's super simple. Italian roll, salami, mortadella, capicola, provolone, olive oil. It all comes together so well for a synergistic, mouthful of deliciousness. I'd say the thing that makes it is the amazing Italian bread. The bread is crusty on the outside, soft on the inside and such wonderful chewiness.

What a place! Great Italian market. Loved the atmosphere. I visited over the Thanksgiving holiday. A family member insisted we had to have the Italian sandwich- something the market is famous for. We ordered 5- enough to bring home to share with a few neighbors. I thought we were going to have to wait for them to be made. To my surprise, they were in a box at the register- grab and go. All in pink wrappers. Very convenient and obviously popular. Just $6 each. We ate at home with a bottle of wine. They had the most amazing bread- with Italian meats and cheese and some olive oil. I've had many Italian sandwiches but nothing like these. Don't miss these if you're in the area. Free parking in the strip mall lot.

Small, humble specialty Italian deli market with a limited selection of groceries. I come here for the pre-made Italian sandwiches wrapped in that signature pink paper. $6 each and while simple and humble like the market, the sandwich simply shines! We will also buy some prosciutto to add to the sandwich and even then, it's such a great value for an Italian sub. YUM!

If there's one thing I DEARLY love in this world, it's a beautiful stocked specialty grocery store with GOOOOOOOD food. Roma Market certainly satisfies!! After hearing about the famous "sandwich" from several of my friends, I hopped on the opportunity to visit as soon as I was within an hour radius of the place. Upon entering, I realized that this was a small yet full-of-delicious-gems kind of spot! I perused the aisles, admiring the shelves full of Italian goods and was surprised to see jars of giardineria - which I've only ever seen sold in Chicago! This was a MUST for me, so I grabbed myself a hot jar along with two drinks. The gold mine of sandwiches was adjacent to the check out register; I grabbed two of those beauties, paid for my bundle of goods, and merrily trotted away feeling as if I'd found myself a speck of gold in a river bed. My first bite was crusty, crispy, soft, and DELICIOUS!! The ratio of bread to meat/cheese was perfect. This is such a simple sandwich, yet jam packed with flavor from the beautifully crafted deli meats. The only other thing that would've put this sandwich over the top would be some giardineria - and lucky for me, I'd just purchased myself a new jar! The next time I visit, I will certainly order myself some specialty deli meats to craft myself sandwiches at home - especially that delectable mortadella - YUM! 10/10 recommend this spot to locals and fellow foodie enthusiasts!!

First of all the sandwich is amazing! Grab a few for a picnic at one of our local awesome gardens. If you want to amp it up add some chopped Giardiniera and olive mix. But it really is amazing as is! The store is awesome, has a lot of authentic products your Nonna would approve of. I get all my flour for pasta and pizzas here as well as the cheeses and meats. Don't sleep on the San marzano canned tomatoes as they have the seal that conveys they're authentic and legit from Italy. The deli is terrific as well, and I'm fairly certain the older gentleman who mans the counter is the owner. He's old school, loves what he does and his passion comes through his welcoming smile. I recommend popping in and gathering ingredients from this small business. I've been patronizing this place for as long as I can remember, my Grandparents used to take me for fresh ingredients as a child. I want to say they offered pizza premade that you could take home and bake, but don't quote me on that, the pandemic messed up a lot of things.

Maaaan, those pre-made, already-wrapped and packed, perfect Roma sandwiches are really something. Just the right amount of meat and cheese, delicious bread, and they are always freshly made and ready to grab. I add tomato and hot giardiniera to mine (both of which you can buy there), and it's unbeatable. The absolute best sandwich for a picnic, a pool or beach day, and so much more. They're also great for kids' lunches during the week. They stay fresh for 2-3 days. Service is excellent and everyone there is so helpful. It's a very charming little market.

This is a great little Italian market, perfect for picking up some specialty snacks and ingredients. There's a great selection and prices are reasonable. I came for the sandwiches, to bring on a poolside picnic. I got one meat and one veggie and both were exactly what I needed. They held up well (the veggie one didn't get eaten until the next day and was still good), were perfect for taking to the pool, and were tasty with good quality ingredients. I also picked up some tiramisu from the the freezer section for dessert. They had a nice wine selection too. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area.

Came here for "The Sandwich" and this has quickly become one of our favorite spots. It's a no frills Italian sandwich with slices of cured meats, provolone cheese and a dash of olive oil. The bread has the perfect crispness, the meats are flavorful and overall the sandwich is a good size considering its only $6 (cash price). The sandwiches are pre-made, you can't order one directly from the meat counter and have to get one from the crate by the register. There usually isn't much of a wait and they have not ran out any of the times we have been but we've always gotten there before 2pm. The market also offers other Italian goodies but we've only tried the sandwiches. Although the owner no longer makes the sandwiches, you'll most likely still see him sitting outside (or inside on a cold day) saying hi to customers. There is a small shared parking lot but we have never had trouble finding a spot here and usually stay in our car after to eat the sandwich right away. If you're going to be in the area, be sure to stop by and grab a sandwich, you won't regret it!

*** Credit cards accepted but I believe there's a 4% customer's fee *** I couldn't believe that I only heard about "the sandwich" until few weeks ago and I was determined to try the most well-known Italian sandwich in Pasadena. I first came here at 4 PM-ish and they were all sold out. The staff said try to come earlier as they typically sell out "the sandwich" at 2 PM - 3 PM. [History]: Rosario Mazzeo, the owner of Roma Market, has been working here for 70+ years without taking a day off. The owner invented the sandwich in 1959 and its contents have not been changed since then. [Parking]: Limited parking spots in the lot. [Price]: No substitute for the sandwich, but vegetarian option is available - $6 as of May 2024. *** The Sandwich (crusty Sicilian bread, olive oil, a couple slices each of capicola, mortadella, salami, and provolone - $6): A very solid Italian cold cut sandwich. Personally the sandwich probably needed a little bit of mayo. Not a life-changing sandwich, but 5-star for fresh and quality cuts of meats. *** Expect a small waiting line and this is one of those places I would come more frequently if I actually work in Pasadena. P.S. - Unlike many other local deli markets, some produces in Roma Market are actually reasonably priced.
